And a new record company, Island Records and Chris Blackwell were totally on his side. It was Cat’s first attempt at breaking away from the commercialism of the songs that preceded the album. Wonderful to remember, no plug-ins no click no grid just pure life and energy in those analog recordings. I remember Paul was fixated that all microphones should be in phase and carried a phase meter with him to the session. The songwriting was brilliant as were the arrangements and the performances by such a great group of musicians. That album and those songs shaped my love of recording music. It was recorded at Olympic Studio 2, with Paul Samwell-Smith producing and George Chkiantz engineering. I was the assistant engineer on the album. Patrick, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. and her memory will live on for years to come. With her kindness and beautiful smile, she will be a golden star among the angels. I will miss her so much however, I know God feels he needs Kathie by his side more than we do, and that he will take very good care of her. With Kathie’s passing, there is going to be huge void in my heart, but I am so happy that she is at peace and no longer suffering. Kathie and I shared hundreds of stories with one another – mostly about our familes and our pets, along with many a laugh and sometimes a tear or two. We hit it off right away, and she immediately made me feel as though I had been a part of the family at BHHS for years. Once I went to work for BHHS, it didn’t take me long to become friends with Kathie because of her infectious smile and warm and caring personality. Kathie is survived by her parents Larry and Ardelle Hutchinson her husband Patrick her children Sean (Kileigh) Lacey and Sarah (Ryan) Moenke the light of her life, granddaughter Grace her siblings, sister Julie (Dave) Levett and brother Marty (Kelley) Hutchinson many nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephew.įriends may visit with Kathie’s family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego from 6 to 8 P.M. She will be forever missed and forever loved by all. ![]() She fought hard until her last breath was taken on April 7 th in the early afternoon. She was a God fearing woman and held her faith until the end. Kathie had a rare talent of being able to host the best parties known to mankind everyone had fun and remembered them forever. She was employed for the last five years at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services of Sturgis, formally Prudential One Real Estate, where she supported a team of real estate agents. Their marriage is one of strong faith and love for over 34 years. In 1976 she met Patrick Lacey and they married October 27, 1979. Kathie graduated with the class of 1975 at Otsego High School. Kathie was never shy when it came to her faith and family. She loved her family more than anything else in this world. John’s Lutheran Church of Sturgis, MI, a devoted Christian and a friend of all. Born on June 9, 1957, she was a loving mother and grandmother, a giving wife, a member of St. Words are just not enough to sum up the life of Kathie D.
